So life as a personal trainer. Wake up at 3 am, work with the first client at 5 am and finish up at 4 pm. On a Saturday!! But you know what I love it, I try and find something to dislike throughout the day and it's hard to find one. I got a question today from a former teammate I played baseball with....what is the best way to increase my speed? I'm not trying to speak negatively on this kid but here's a kid getting ready to go try out for the Cubs in a month or so and I see him going from pull-ups to step-ups to squats on a Smith Machine. And he's asking me how to get faster. I just wish I could sit down with this kid for a couple hours (or days) and explain a bit about program design and then maybe he will get "faster".

What I learned today:
Athletes take more of your energy then the "weekend warrior" which you would never thing is true. Atheltes have so much to learn. With the 7 hours of training today I had one athelte. I love working with athletes just because of the fact there is so much to educate them on. From breathing patterns, to staying in neutral alignment at the spine, to something like trap and glute activiation.
